Course Overview
These new CIEH Level 1 awards are available for food safety relating to the three industry types shown above. These sector specific courses cover the risks associated with food handling and the importance of food hygiene.
Who is it for?
These courses are suitable for a variety of different staff, including new employees with minimal or no food safety knowledge, those handling low-risk or wrapped food, front of house employees, such as waiting or checkout staff, and those behind the scenes such as kitchen porters or warehouse staff.

Course Objectives
As the Level 1 awards are industry specific, the training programme has been tailored to meet the needs of staff working in catering, manufacturing or retail environments. By the end of the sector specific courses all delegates will gain a fundamental knowledge of food hygiene.
Assessment
Delegates take a multiple-choice exam and if successful they will receive a CIEH certificate.
Duration
Minimum 3 hours, normally a half-day course.
This course can be run in-house for up to 15 delegates.
