CIEH Advanced Certificate in Health and Safety
Course overview
The legal requirement to train employees should extend beyond
awareness and understanding of health and safety issues. This
course has been designed in response to the need for key personnel
to have the skills and knowledge to manage the health and safety
function. The course is delivered in a unique interactive style
incorporating the discussion of individual management problems
and issues.
Who is it for?
This course is designed for those managing health and safety
in small organisations or who form part of team in medium sized
to large organisations. It is also an appropriate technical
qualification for those wishing to apply to offer Level 1 training.

Course Objectives
Successful delegates will be able to
- Manage health and safety by developing, auditing and monitoring
programmes
- Design safe practices and procedures,
- Liaise with enforcement officers,
- Interpret legal requirements
- Assist in staff training
- Establish risk assessment projects (with additional training
where necessary).
Assessment
3-hour examination representing 60% of the final grade and
two course assignments representing the remaining 40%.
Duration
Minimum of 40 hours + examination (normally 6 days)
This course can be run in-house for up to 15 delegates or
individuals can attend our open courses.
